02What the module does

Less routine. More value.

The Mapy.cz integration adds address autocomplete to forms, geocoding of addresses into coordinates, map tiles and road route calculations. Addresses are entered faster and without typos, and records get coordinates for map views. Requests are routed through the server so the API key never leaves the backend.

  • Address autocomplete as you typeForms suggest matching addresses from Mapy.cz as you type, helping your team enter addresses faster and with fewer typos.
  • Instant coordinates from addressesThe selected address is automatically converted into coordinates and saved to the record, making it ready to display on a map without manual lookup.
  • Interactive map inside the recordThe map field displays Mapy.cz base maps in switchable layers. An administrator sets the default layer and mutually exclusive layers to fit your company's needs.
  • Road routing for other modulesMapy.cz acts as a road routing provider, allowing modules that work with routes to calculate actual road distances and paths.
  • Coordinates for older recordsBackfill coordinates in bulk for existing records created before the integration was turned on. Without confirmation, only a preview is shown, with a default limit of 50 records per run.
  • Custom source and target fieldsDuring bulk backfilling, you specify which field to read the address from and which field to write the coordinates to, so the feature adapts to your custom fields.
  • Existing coordinates stay untouchedRecords that already have coordinates are skipped unless you explicitly choose to overwrite them, preventing accidental changes to existing data.
  • API key kept out of the browserAutocomplete, geocoding, map tiles and routing are proxied through the Draivix server, which attaches the API key. The only exception is the panorama viewer, where the browser receives the key.
  • Cached map tilesMap tiles—individual map sections—are cached for one day. An administrator can adjust the cache duration so repeated views do not have to download the same tiles again.
  • Street-level panoramas in the systemThe integration includes the Mapy.cz panorama viewer. Because the browser receives the API key for panoramas, restrict the key to your instance domain.

03How it works

How it works step by step.

  1. What the integration delivers

As you type an address into a form, matching addresses from Mapy.cz are suggested automatically. The selected address is converted into coordinates and saved to the record that uses the map field. The map field displays Mapy.cz base maps in layers; the administrator defines the default layer and mutually exclusive layers.

    Read in detail

Mapy.cz also serves as a road routing provider, so any module that calculates routes can use it.

  2. Backfilling coordinates on existing records

For records created before the integration was enabled, you can backfill coordinates in bulk. Without confirmation, it only shows a preview. The default limit is 50 records per run. Records that already have coordinates are skipped unless you explicitly choose to overwrite them. You can specify which field the address is read from and which field the coordinates are written to.

  3. API key and security

Address autocomplete, geocoding, map tiles and routing all pass through the Draivix server, which attaches the API key to each request. Map tiles are cached on the server for 86,400 seconds (one day).

    Read in detail

The only exception is the panorama viewer, which receives the API key in the browser. You should therefore restrict the key to your instance domain. Request quotas are set by Mapy.cz.

  4. Configuration

An administrator enables the integration and enters the API key, which is stored as a secret value. You can independently enable address autocomplete, choose the default map layer and mutually exclusive layers, and set the tile cache duration. The integration has no scheduled jobs or custom entities; it writes coordinates directly to the entities that use a map field.

04What runs automatically

Automations that save time.

  1. Map tiles stay cached and ready

When loaded, map tiles are automatically cached on the server for 86,400 seconds (one day), so identical map sections do not need to be downloaded again.

  • Mapy.cz for addresses and routesThe Mapy.cz REST API powers address autocomplete, geocoding (converting addresses to coordinates), map tiles, routing and panoramas. Query quotas are governed by Mapy.cz.

05Frequently asked questions

Does Draivix support address autocomplete?

Yes. Once the Mapy.cz integration is enabled, forms suggest addresses as you type and convert the selected address into coordinates.

Can I add coordinates to existing records?

Yes. The bulk backfill tool shows a preview first, processes up to 50 records per run by default, and skips records that already have coordinates.

Can users see the Mapy.cz API key?

Autocomplete, geocoding, map tiles and routing go through the server, which adds the key. Only the panorama viewer receives the key in the browser, so you should restrict it to your instance domain.

Does Draivix calculate routes?

Yes. Mapy.cz serves as the road routing provider for modules that need route calculations.

Can address autocomplete be turned off?

Yes. Address autocomplete has its own toggle in the settings, independent of the rest of the Mapy.cz integration.
