02What the module does
Less routine. More value.
Production management in Draivix tracks production orders from draft to completion, breaks them down into work orders by operation, and logs operator work. It issues materials from the warehouse and receives finished goods in a single step, including material costs. Your business sees what is being manufactured, who is working on what, and how much production cost.
- Orders with a clear statusA production order moves through statuses from draft to completion, changed only through its dedicated actions with record version checks. Two users will never overwrite each other's work.
- Work orders created automaticallyWhen you release a production order, work orders are automatically generated from the routing operations. You do not need to create them manually one by one.
- Operations run in sequenceOperations are released step by step: the next one becomes ready once the previous one is finished. Operators see what they can start working on and do not skip ahead of the workflow.
- Visibility into every work segmentYou log completed work in segments with counts of good and defective pieces and the scrap reason. You always know what the shop floor produced and why scrap occurred.
- Suggested operator assignmentThe system suggests a suitable operator for a work order. The planner knows whom to consider, while the final decision stays in their hands.
- Drag-and-drop schedulingYou schedule work orders by dragging them on the Gantt chart—your production timeline. The system checks work center and machine capacities on the fly, so you spot overloads immediately.
- Scheduling accounts for staff absencesScheduling factors in absences and work calendars from HR. You never assign work to someone who is off on that day.
- Handle conflicts your wayYou set the conflict mode yourself: the system can show a warning, block scheduling, or ignore the conflict. Your company decides how strict scheduling should be.
- Materials calculated as of the need dateThe system calculates materials from the BOM revision valid on the requirement date. Production always works from the version effective at that moment, not from an outdated spec.
- Material issue and product receipt at onceMaterial issue and finished product receipt happen in a single transaction, including serial numbers. If anything goes wrong, nothing is changed, so inventory is never left half-written-off.
- Complete orders right from the scannerYou can complete a production order from a mobile scanner: the warehouse operator scans it and issues the material and receives the finished product in one step—no trip to a desktop PC required.
- Total production costs at a glanceMaterial costs are pulled from the inventory issue, labor and overhead are entered manually, and total costs are their sum. You see what production cost on every single order.
- Work center rates with full historyEach work center maintains a history of rates with validity periods. Even after a rate change, you can always trace which rate applied in any given period.
- Period close waits for productionOpen production orders block the inventory valuation close. You cannot close a period before production in it is finished, keeping inventory values aligned with your documents.
03How it works
How it works step by step.
Production order
A production order carries the product, planned quantity, due date, material required date, warehouse, and optionally a project. It moves through draft, scheduled, released, in progress, on hold, completed, and canceled statuses. Only order actions can change its status. Every change checks the record version so two users never overwrite each other's work. Putting an order on hold or canceling it requires a reason.
Read in detail
Canceling an order or returning it to draft cancels open material requirements and unposted warehouse documents for that order. If an issue slip or receipt has already been posted, the system refuses the cancellation. The Generate Serial Numbers action prepares serial numbers for the finished product.
Work orders and logged work
Releasing a production order creates work orders by default based on the operations in the routing. For each one, it fills in the work center, machine, operator, and planned duration (setup time plus run time per unit times quantity). The first operation is ready while subsequent ones wait. Completing or canceling an operation releases the next one.
Read in detail
The operator starts, pauses, and finishes work. Each session is recorded as logged work with start/end times, duration, good and scrap quantities, and a scrap reason. Resuming work creates a new session. By default, a worker can only have one active session at a time, and standard users can only finish their own work. The system can also suggest a suitable operator for a work order.
Gantt scheduling
You schedule work orders by dragging them on a Gantt chart. The system checks work center and machine capacity against capacity intervals and other scheduled orders, concurrent assignments for the same operator, as well as absences and work calendars from HR. You configure which absence types block scheduling. Depending on your settings, a conflict triggers a warning, blocks scheduling, or is ignored. Dates are set by the planner; the system does not auto-schedule them on its own.
Materials and warehouse issue
The Publish Material Requirement action selects the valid BOM or formula revision and calculates the exact material quantity as of the requirement date. It records a material requirement for each line. A production profile must exist beforehand.
Read in detail
The Issue from Warehouse action then issues all components in a single transaction according to the warehouse strategy, records fulfillment, and closes the requirements. At the same time, it receives the finished product—including serial numbers if applicable—and completes the order. If anything fails, nothing changes. Producing more than planned is not permitted. Any underproduction must be reported as scrap. The same process can be carried out from a mobile barcode scanner. An order without a published requirement can be completed manually with an entered quantity, but in that case inventory and material costs are not recorded.
Warehouse issue currently supports the discrete make-to-stock production profile without batch tracking and without quality inspection.
Production costs
Material costs are taken from the inventory issue value. Labor and overhead costs are entered manually and locked once the order is closed. Total costs are their sum. The product value on the receipt slip is distributed so that rounding neither creates nor loses value. Open production and work orders within a period block the inventory valuation close.
04What runs automatically
Automations that save time.
Release generates work orders
As soon as you release a production order, its work orders are created. If you prefer to create them differently, you can turn this automation off in settings.
Next operation queued automatically
Completing or canceling an operation releases the next operation in sequence. Operators at the next step are never held up waiting for manual instructions.
Quantities totaled automatically
When a work segment ends, the system recalculates the produced and defective quantities on the work order. You see the production status without tallying logs by hand.
Warehouse issue completes the entire order
The Issue from Warehouse action closes material requirements and completes the production order in a single transaction. Nothing is left half-open afterward.
Cancellation cleans up linked documents
When you cancel a production order, its open requirements and unposted inventory documents are canceled as well. No dangling documents remain in the warehouse.
Production triggers your automation rules
When an order is released or completed, or when work finishes, your custom automation rule can run. You configure the next step to match your company's workflow.
What the AI agent handles
What is waiting for production
Ask the AI assistant for pending production operations and get an instant overview. You know what is next in line without clicking through individual orders.
Summary of open production orders
The AI assistant summarizes open production orders for you. You get a clear picture of work in progress without compiling reports manually.
Work orders in progress
Ask the AI assistant for a summary of open work orders to see the jobs currently running or waiting on the shop floor.
Work center output on demand
The AI assistant breaks down logged work by work center. You can easily compare output across stations without piecing timesheets together by hand.
A person approves whenever money, a customer, or an exception is involved.
05Frequently asked questions
How are work orders created in Draivix?
When a production order is released, the system generates them from the routing operations—including work center, machine, operator, and planned duration. Work orders can also be created manually.
Does scheduling check capacity and leave?
Yes. The Gantt chart checks work center and machine capacity, concurrent operator assignments, and HR absences. Depending on your settings, a conflict triggers a warning or blocks scheduling.
How are materials issued to production?
The Issue from Warehouse action issues all BOM components, receives the finished product, and completes the order in a single transaction.
How does Draivix calculate production order costs?
Materials are valued from the actual inventory issue; labor and overhead are entered manually. Total costs are their sum and are locked once the order is closed.
Can shop floor workers log their work?
Yes. On the shop floor terminal or in the app, they start, pause, and finish work and enter good and defective piece counts.
Can a production order be completed from a mobile device?
Yes. The warehouse operator scans the order with a barcode scanner and triggers the material issue and finished product receipt.
