02What the module does

Less routine. More value.

The product catalog is the shared foundation used by warehouse management, manufacturing, field service and projects. It holds products, their prices and price lists, suppliers, parameters, units of measure with conversions, and individual serial numbers. Your company maintains product master data in one place, and prices are calculated by rules rather than by hand.

  • Everything about a product in one placeEach product holds its SKU (your internal stock code), type, categories, EAN codes, pictograms and accessories. Warehouse, manufacturing and service teams all read the same master data from a single source.
  • Prices driven by your rulesAssign one of nine pricing methods to each product—such as markup, margin, multipliers or the sum of kit components. Prices are then calculated by rule rather than by hand.
  • Tax-inclusive prices calculated automaticallyEvery time you save a product, the system derives its tax-inclusive prices from its tax class. You never have to calculate them manually, and the base input price remains unchanged.
  • A price list for every customer segmentManage price lists by currency, price tier and customer type, each with its own validity dates. You can offer tailored pricing to different customer groups without manual exceptions.
  • VAT and discounts built into price listsEvery price list entry carries a VAT rate, discount and validity period. You can schedule promotional pricing in advance for specific dates without having to track reminders on a calendar.
  • Suppliers right on the product cardKeep supplier items with purchase prices, lead times and catalog numbers directly on the product. When ordering, you immediately see who to buy from, at what cost and how long delivery takes.
  • Kits recalculate their own pricesA kit’s price updates automatically whenever its components change. The system also prevents a kit from containing itself—even indirectly—so circular references can never occur.
  • Custom parameters without codingCategories define typed parameters—attributes with a fixed data type—and you can also add free-form parameters to individual products. Every product gets the exact attributes it needs without any programming.
  • Your choice stays intactFlags are yes/no questions defined by a category. The system adds them to products without overwriting manual user selections, so your decision stays preserved.
  • Unit conversions with full historyUnit of measure conversions include versioning and validity dates, and calculate using density and actual piece weight. Both inventory and manufacturing convert using the active version while keeping full history.
  • Test conversions in advanceThe unit and conversion management page shows physical quantities, units, and the conversion registry. A calculation preview displays the result before you start using the conversion.
  • Tracking and condition for every unitEvery serial number has two statuses: a record status (registered, retired) and a physical status, such as operational or defective. Every step can be corrected, so a mistake will not ruin a unit's history.
  • No accidental product deletionA product that has stock on hand, serial numbers, or technical data cannot be deleted. You will never accidentally lose master data that inventory or manufacturing relies on.

03How it works

How it works step by step.

  1. Products and categories

Each product carries a name, SKU, type, description, categories, EAN codes, pictograms and accessories. Categories can define typed parameters with a default value, required status and valid range, giving every product the right set of attributes without any coding. Categories can also include flags—yes/no questions. The system adds them to every product in the category and never overwrites an answer already entered by a user.

    Read in detail

On each product, you maintain supplier items with purchase price, currency, lead time, catalog number and part number. For automatic purchasing, a rule selects the supplier with the lowest price, or the lowest price factoring in lead time.

  2. Pricing rules and price lists

A product’s price is governed by its chosen pricing method: no price, fixed selling price excluding or including tax, markup on purchase price, margin, sell at purchase price, purchase or sales multiplier, or the sum of kit components. Every time a product is saved, the system recalculates derived prices and derives tax-inclusive prices from the tax class, while leaving the base input price untouched.

    Read in detail

Price lists have a code, currency, price tier, customer type and valid-from date. Product prices within a price list carry a unit price, VAT rate, percentage discount and validity period.

  3. Kits and bundles

A kit consists of components with a specified quantity and sequence. Its price can be calculated as the sum of its components. Whenever a component’s price or currency changes, the system recalculates every kit that contains it. Foreign-currency components are converted using the exchange rate, and any component whose currency lacks an exchange rate cannot be added to the kit. A kit is prevented from containing itself, even indirectly.

  4. Units of measure and conversions

Units of measure are grouped by physical quantity and define decimal precision and rounding rules. Conversions between units are versioned and have validity periods. Beyond standard fixed ratios, the system supports conversion via density and conversion by actual piece weight. A conversion is first created as a draft and becomes immutable once published. Publishing a new version replaces the previous one while preserving the full history.

    Read in detail

Both warehouse and manufacturing store the exact conversion used on every movement. The Units of Measure page in administration displays physical quantities, units and the conversion registry, and lets you test conversions in advance.

  5. Serial numbers

Every serialized unit tracks two independent statuses: record status (registered, decommissioned) and physical condition (unknown, operational, defective, scrapped). Dedicated actions let you register, decommission, report a defect, mark as operational or scrap a unit, and every step can be corrected. Field service modules use the exact same lifecycle when replacing parts. A product that has stock on hand, serial numbers or a technical definition cannot be deleted.

04What runs automatically

Automations that save time.

  1. Saving aligns derived prices

When you save a product, the system recalculates derived prices based on the pricing method and tax class. You do not have to calculate them manually, and prices stay aligned with the configured rule.

  2. Component changes recalculate kits

When a component's price or currency changes, the system recalculates the price of every kit that contains it. You do not need to update kits one by one after a change.

  3. Flags added without overwriting answers

When a category gets new flags, the system adds them to its products while keeping existing manual answers. You can add new questions without losing what your team has already filled in.

  4. New version replaces the old one

Publishing a new unit conversion version replaces the previously active version. Future calculations use the new version while the history of the previous one remains intact.

  5. Unit defects trigger follow-up steps

Retiring, reporting a defect, repairing, or scrapping a serial number triggers an event for automation rules. You can link it to any follow-up workflow your business defines.

What the AI agent handles

  • AI assistant reads product data

The AI assistant reads products and their details using general record tools. You can ask it for any catalog detail without searching for the product manually.

A person approves whenever money, a customer, or an exception is involved.

05Frequently asked questions

How does Draivix calculate a product's selling price?

Based on the selected pricing method, such as a markup or margin on the purchase price. The system recalculates derived prices and tax-inclusive prices every time a product is saved.

Does Draivix support price lists for different customers?

Yes. A price list has a currency, price tier, customer type, and validity period, and each price entry carries a VAT rate, discount, and validity dates.

How do unit of measure conversions work?

A conversion is created as a draft and becomes immutable once published. A new version replaces the old one from its effective date, and the warehouse records the exact conversion used for every stock movement.

Can I track individual units by serial number?

Yes. Each serial number has a record status and a physical unit status, along with actions for retirement, defect reporting, repair, and scrapping.

Does Draivix calculate kit prices automatically?

Yes, if you choose component-sum pricing. Any change to a component's price automatically updates all kits that contain it.
