02What the module does

Less routine. More value.

The Gmail integration connects Gmail inboxes directly to the Draivix email client. Labels appear as folders, outgoing mail is sent via the Gmail API, and new messages arrive almost immediately thanks to push notifications—so your team works with Gmail right alongside customers and orders.

  • Automatic Gmail setup on sign-inOnce a Google account is connected, Draivix automatically creates a Gmail email account. Users simply sign in with Google—no manual mailbox configuration required.
  • Labels work like foldersGmail labels and categories appear as folders in Draivix, so your team can navigate their email the same way as any other inbox.
  • Dedicated archive folderArchived mail has its own dedicated folder in Draivix. Messages you have set aside stay easy to find without cluttering your inbox.
  • Changes sync back to GmailWhen you star, read, or move a message in Draivix, those changes are reflected in your Gmail labels—keeping your inbox identical in both tools.
  • Same categories as in GmailDraivix adopts inbox categories directly from your Gmail labels. Messages are sorted the way you are used to, with no need to reorganize anything.
  • Outgoing mail sent via GmailMessages from Draivix are sent through Google’s Gmail API. You write emails in Draivix right next to the customer record while sending from your own Gmail account.
  • Attachments downloaded on openAttachments are downloaded from Gmail on demand when you open them, so working with a large inbox is never slowed down by files you do not currently need.
  • Instant change notifications from GoogleGoogle Cloud Pub/Sub sends a push notification whenever the mailbox changes. New messages appear in Draivix almost immediately, without waiting.
  • Automatic retry on Google rate limitsIf Google temporarily throttles requests, Draivix postpones synchronization and resumes automatically—so administrators never have to restart it manually.
  • Disable email per connectionEmail sync can be turned off individually for each connection. Anyone who only wants their Google Calendar in Draivix does not have to connect their inbox.
  • Repair command for missing attachmentsAdministrators have a repair command that retrieves missing attachments from the Gmail inbox. If a document is missing from a message, it can be restored without manual forwarding.

03How it works

How it works step by step.

  1. How it works

Users connect their Google account by signing in with Google through the Google integration. Draivix then automatically sets up a Gmail email account. No password is stored in Draivix, and email sync can be disabled for the connection at any time.

    Read in detail

Gmail system labels and categories appear as folders, with the archive shown as a separate folder. Starring, reading, or moving a message in Draivix updates its labels in Gmail, and inbox categories match those in Gmail.

  2. Sending and attachments

Messages are sent via the Gmail API, and attachments are downloaded from Gmail only when opened. Administrators also have a repair command to fetch any missing attachments.

  3. Instant synchronization

Google sends a notification via Pub/Sub whenever the mailbox changes, triggering synchronization in Draivix. Notifications are protected by a token and rate limiting, and the notification subscription is renewed regularly.

    Read in detail

Without push notifications, the mailbox syncs on a schedule. If Google temporarily rate-limits requests, Draivix postpones the sync and resumes later. New messages then go through the same processing as any other email: matching to a contact, company, or lead and notifying the user.

  4. What your company can configure

The administrator defines the Gmail permission scopes in the Google integration settings. Default permissions cover reading mail, modifying labels, sending, and permanent deletion. For push notifications, the administrator enters a Pub/Sub topic in the same Google Cloud project as the OAuth client. Email sync can be enabled or disabled individually for each connection.

04What runs automatically

Automations that save time.

  1. Push notifications trigger sync

When a push notification arrives from Gmail, Draivix synchronizes the mailbox. New messages are then matched to a contact, company, or lead just like any other email.

  2. Scheduled check as a fallback

The system runs the CheckInboundEmails job on a schedule to check for new mail, ensuring the mailbox stays synced even if a notification from Google does not arrive.

  3. Automatic subscription renewal

The system regularly renews the Gmail push notification subscription. Fast synchronization keeps running without an administrator having to watch for expiration dates.

External integrations

  • Mail via the Gmail APIMessages, labels, attachments, and outgoing mail all flow through the Gmail API. Your team works with Gmail directly alongside customers and orders.
  • Notifications from Google CloudGoogle Cloud Pub/Sub forwards mailbox change notifications to Draivix. To enable this, the administrator configures a topic in the same Google Cloud project as the OAuth client.
  • Sign-in with GoogleUsers sign in via Google OAuth, powered by the GoogleIntegration module. No password is stored in Draivix, and email can be turned off for the connection at any time.
